Wow! Imagine that! A professional development that is actually being applied to my teaching. I am sooooo excited. Mrs. Russell and I developed a project for my science classes that is actually using technology that we were exposed to and learned about during our PLC. Students are using Diigo to bookmark and highlight research resources. I even applied it to Math classes by posting a group link for Math!!! Now they are using the Diigo tool for a Math project as well. Awesome!!
Perc classes are also using Museum Boxes to produce a unique presentation using a variety of media and tools. Way tooo cooool.

Week 3 or 4?? Thing 7 & 8
I am really enjoying my Google Reader and adding to it almost daily. This could take one's life over completely!! While trying to figure out how to use Museum Boxes and searching for a tutorial to help the students get started, I found yet another awesome resource that I just had to share. You will obviously need to add this to your ever growing list of can't live without resources as well. It is eduTecher.net . There is a blog link on the website, but the absolutely coolest part is eduTecherTV. He not only identifies and introduces technology out there, but explains how to use it!! Check it out and let me know what you think.

Week 3 Thing 7
I find myself spending hours just pouring over the multitude of technology resources for education! I have found so many that I am loosing track. A couple of the better resources I have found are actually blogs! Free Technology for Teachers http://www.freetech4teachers.com/ is an amazing resource. I am just blown away by the sheer volume of information and tools available.
I have found a great tool for gathering and organizing this information. It's called Evernote. I can place photos, clips, notes all in one place and access it from any computer or ipad. It has really helped me keep some of this information organized.
I have also found a wonderful piece of technology which I plan to use soon. It is found at a site called "Museum Boxes" http://museumbox.e2bn.org/. Check this out! It provides the tools for you to build up an argument or description of an event, person or historical period by placing items in a virtual box. You can use it to present information or research on a specific topic. What items, for example, would you put in a box to describe your life; the life o Students actually "build" 3 dimensional boxes with anything from a text file to a movie. You can also view and comment on the museum boxes submitted by others. I am going to try to get it together to use in my class soon!
The only down side to all of this technology is finding time to develop activities and learn how to use it well enough to apply it in your teaching.
